Ao Kaketshir Telongjem (AKM) has exposed one Priyadarshi Chatterjee who had falsely accused the organisation of violating rights of the illegal migrants in the state.
In a press release, AKM president Jemtimenba and secretary Bendangkumba said that Chatterjee who claimed to be the chairman of International Human Rights Commission for Indigenous and Minority (IHRCIM) affiliated to UN & EU, was allegedly trying to create confusion between the administration, students and the people in Mokokchung.
Ao Kaketshir Telongjem alleged that he tried to sabotage the organization’s drive against illegal immigrants vis-à-vis routine record maintenance of census of non-locals in Mokokchung.
AKM said Chatterjee tried to mislead the district administration and police by falsely alleging against AKM’s drive against illegal immigrants was a violation of international norms and tried to implicate AKM members of not only violating the human rights but posing a threat to him and his family.
Ao Kaketshir Telongjem also informed that Chatterjee has been meeting the district authority and also forwarded minutes of the meeting to DC Mokokchung for the purpose of sending the same to Ministry of Home Affairs; chief secretary of Nagaland; home ministry joint secretary Shambu Singh; IGAR North; SIB Mokokchung and number of high ranking security personnel.
Since he had been illegally staying in Mokokchung without valid and legal documents, he was held by the police.
Ao Kaketshir Telongjem also claimed to have received the confessional statement of Chatterjee where he admitted he had been trying to create problem for AKM “for his self interest” and an unconditional apology to AKM dated August 8.
Ao Kaketshir Telongjem also drew the attention to all student organizations and the Nagas to be more vigilant and careful to ascertain the intention of the people/organizations especially the high sounding mission/project which targeted the youth and students of Nagaland.
The organization said any individual/organization within the jurisdiction of AKM if found associating with “such dubious persons” would be strictly dealt with and held responsible for any eventualities.
