The association has also asked the department to do away with the present system where the primary teachers with higher qualification were discriminated in promotion.
ANGPTA said that its plea was based on there were no promotion for primary teachers even with higher qualification whereas others in the department like office assistance, graduate teachers, physical teachers, Hindi teachers etc. have promotional scope.
The association also said the work responsibilities of the of primary teachers were entrusted based on qualification and not designation and the responsibility entrusted was equal to that of graduate teachers/gazetted officers.
ANGPTA said the workload of primary teachers was more or same as graduate teachers due to shortage or absence of graduate teachers in government middle schools and government high schools due to the up-gradation of the schools.
