With a dual objectives – to encourage students to be more responsible in their work for the welfare of the society and to make them better in life by instilling clear insight of their abilities, aptitudes, and personality traits on various ways, Dzülhami Students’ Association Kohima (ZSAK) has organized a one-day seminar for students and young adult on September 13 at Chakhesang Baptist Church Jubilee Memorial Hall.
DSAK president, Khovelü, in her presidential addressed, said the idea behind organizing the seminar was to encourage students community get socialized among themselves and compete with other communities in various ways with perseverance.
Assistant Director of Rural Development, Razukhrü Vasa, Dr. Vephizo Keyho, Professor of Nagaland University Dr. Ditamulü Vasa, and Disahi Vadeo were the resource persons.
The topics discussed during the seminar included career guidance, health education, cultural education and quality education and dignity of labour.
Addressing a host of students, Razukhrü Vasa advised students to discover one’s area of interest and to pursue vigorously to be successful. He has advised the students to be disciplined in managing their time, food habit and to perform regular duty which according to him are the keys to success in life.
In his advised to the average students, he asked them to identify the strong point and work hard accordingly saying everyone has their own unique talent. Besides, he also shared inputs on career guidance by encouraging them to pursue further studies in Nagaland and outside basing on their eligibility, nature of jobs, availability of opportunities and requirements of jobs.
Exhorting the gathering, Zachilhu Vadeo, for minister of Nagaland, stressed on the importance of having dreams in life and urged the students to dream big and work hard, which would carry them forward. In this, he said will power and strong determination would push them ahead.
Zalhüzü Vasa, Ura Academy members while exhorting the students stressed on the important of preserving the original language of our forefather. He regretted that many of the original language are vanishing among the present generation.
Around hundred students from different schools and colleges attended the seminar. The session was led by Rükuvoyi keyho, while the Bible reading and prayer was led by Phükhwüyi Melhare and special song was presented by Ralü Keyho. The seminar concluded with closing prayer said by Vezopra Naroh.
