Peace Channel conducts leadership training

Peace Channel, under IGSSS project, has organized leadership training programme on November 22 at Peace Channel conference hall for Peace Club members and youth leaders of different localities. 
During the programme, resource person and Peace Channel coordinator of Kohima district, Menguzenuo Sachü, took a session on life skill and leadership. She talked about the concept of life skills and its different components which included critical thinking skills, decision making skills, coping and self-management skills and interpersonal communication skills.
Menguzenuo said one should have creativity and problem solving skills and also have interpersonal relationship and empathy towards the people so that problems are understood and also make the decision taken effective. She also stressed on the benefits of life skills education in educational institutions as it could help build characters and improve the behavior and discipline of students in schools. She added that there is also much benefit in health, culture and even economy of the society if the people are educated on life skills.
Meanwhile, the second session was conducted with activities and games on leadership theme to make aware of the qualities that they have in them which was taken up by Manu Joseph of Peace Channel.
During the session, Manu spoke about the different types of leaders and the different qualities of a good leader. He encouraged them to discover the hidden qualities in them and use them effectively in leading their own localities and clubs. The programme was chaired by Peace Channel-IGSSS project coordinator, Ahel Vitsu.
The training was attended by the youth leaders of four different localities and youth organisations including Forest Colony, Railway Colony, Borlengri Colony and TUFF Club, 4th Mile, along with MSW student volunteers from IGNOU.
