Following the decision of the State government, the Finance department Saturday informed that it had already released an amount of Rs. 141.66 lakh for payment of pending advertisement bills to the dailies/newspaper under various departments on November 27 to the Department of Information and Public Relations.
Department of IPR has been directed to release the payments to the Newspapers at the earliest after following codal procedures. The Government has also constituted a Committee to look into the other grievances as expressed by the Media fraternity.
