In view of the visit of Prime Minister Narendra Modi to Dimapur, Nagaland on November 30 and December , the Superintendent of Police (SP) has issued directives for regulation of vehicular traffic during the VVIP visit.
In a press release, additional Superintendent of Police & PRO, Dimapur Chinese Chakhesang said the route from Dimapur Airport to VVIP Gate, Police Complex, Chumukedima would be closed to vehicular traffic 30 minutes prior to VVIP carcade movement on November 30 and December 1.
All vehicular movements in the by-lanes leading to the above mentioned route would be closed/stopped at a distance 100 feet from the VVIP route 30 minutes prior to VVIP carcade movement on November 304 and December 1.
Only vehicles of the security personnel on duty, dignitaries receiving the VVIP, and party functionaries all with car pass would be permitted to ply along the above mentioned route during the timings when vehicular movement is closed to normal traffic.
All auto stands along the VVIP route would be shifted to areas away from the identified route.
For public convenience, they would be allowed to ply along the route before the movement of VVIP but would not be permitted to park except to stop for picking up/dropping passengers, said the press release.
No vehicles except those with cap pass would be allowed to enter the Airport area from NEZCC junction (Half km from Airport), one hour ahead of the VVIP movement.

Z in red background: The dignitaries with this car pass will have full access both at Dimapur Airport and Central Police Officers’ Mess. However, only the car of the governor and the chief minister would be permitted entry through VVIP Gate in to Police Complex.
The pilot/escort vehicles of the governor and the chief minister would peel off at the junction above the Central Police Officers’ Mess and be parked at the Hockey ground.
The other dignitaries with the same car pass will enter the Central Police Officers’ Mess through RP Gate No. 1 and will wait in the halting area arranged outside the DIG (Trg&Bdr) area where the visitors would be ferried to Police house by ferry vehicles as arranged.
Y in green background: The dignitaries with this car pass would be allowed entry at Dimapur Airport.
X in yellow background: The dignitaries with this car pass would be permitted entry only at Central Police Officers’ Mess. The dignitaries with this car pass will enter the Central Police Officers’ Mess through RP Gate No. 1 and will wait in the halting area arranged outside the DIG (Trg&Bdr) area where the visitors shall be ferried to Police house by ferry vehicles as arranged.
All public/party workers and road/vehicle users have been informed to take note of the above timings and regulations and comply with the same in view of the VVIP visit to Dimapur.
Kma police advisory
Kohima police have advised those attending the Prime Minister’s public function at Naga Heritage Village Kisama December 1, to be seated at least 30 minutes prior to the arrival of the VVIP for security reasons since all vehicular movements would be stopped to provide free passage to the visiting VVIP.
In a press note, SDPO &PRO Kohima, Atu Zumvü said vehicles should be parked only in the designated areas according to allotted Car passes. Vehicles found parked at No parking zone would be towed away by Traffic Police. PRO also informed that “no private vehicle(s) would be allowed to tail/move in front of the VVIP convoy unless allowed by the Police”. All concern has been requested to extend co-operation to the security personnel on duty.
