Power department has informed the public that due to snapping of conductor of transmission line, the quantum of power supply was being heavily restricted. In a press release, power department chief engineer (T&G) Er. K. Miachieo stated that one conductor of 220 kv transmission line from Misa sub-station to Dimapur sub-division of power grid cooperation of India Ltd. snapped at 5.36 p.m. on February 16 leading to blackout in the whole state of Nagaland for some time. According to chief engineer, the state was now being temporarily fed from 132 kv transmission line from Mariani sub-station — Bokajan-Dimapur. However, due to the lower carrying capacity of 132 kv line compared to earlier 220 kv line, the quantum of power supply was being heavily restricted. CE said work on faulty 220 kv line was in progress. It has requested all consumers to bear with the inconveniences till the faulty line was resorted.
