State level yuva kriti & folk cultural festival underway at Kisama

Three-day state Level Yuva Kriti, Youth Convention & Folk Cultural Festival 2015 organized by Nehru Yuva Kendra Sagathan, Nagaland Zone under the ministry of skill development, entrepreneurship, youth affairs and sports, government of India got underwat at Bamboo Hall, Kisama.
 The programme was inaugurated by principal Japfii Christian College Dr. Visakhonu Hibo.
Addressing the youth participants from districts of Nagaland, Hibo highlighted the urgent need to regenerate the economic activities for optimal use as per the demands of the people.
 She emphasized on working effectively for quality products and the ability to supply the required quality. Hibo also shared her experiences working with UNDP, SHGs, Women’s health, economic issues and women empowerment.
She was of the view that Nagaland has lot of potentials and raw materials which she said need to be marketable.
Hibo said that the Act East of the government of India will definitely boost the morale of the youth and it will enhance skill development in all fronts. She however was apprehensive that Nagas may not be prepared to face such challenges due lack of political will and financial capacity.
Later, she also gave away State level Outstanding Youth Club Awards 2014 to Fountain Club of Kohima district. The award consists of a citation and cash award for Rs. 1 lakh.
While accepting the award, president of the Fountain Club appreciated the initiative taken up by NYKS for the promotion of Youth activities in community development.
Hibo also inaugurated the exhibition stalls for handloom and handicrafts and food items produced locally by youth clubs.
The key note address was delivered by zonal director, NYKS Jackie Ruivah who highlighted the vision and mission of Yuva Kriti & Folk Cultural Festival 2013.
Ruivah said the programme was targeted to provide large audience to the youth where new vistas of opportunities could be unfurled for further improvement in growth and development. The cultural programme is organized with the view to promote, preserve and enrich cultural heritage of the state, Ruivah added.
The invocation of prayer was led by chairman deacon board KBC Khokhe Neihu, welcome address was delivered by DYC, Mokokchung John Makhabo while the session was led by NYC Medonuo Sopfunuo and vote of thanks was said by NYC Lawrence.
