A total number of 49 persons were arrested by Kohima police during February 2015 for not possessing Inner Line Permit (ILP) and registered 45 Non-FIR cases in this connection.
All the 49 arrested ILP defaulters were booked under section 3 and 4 of Bengal Eastern Frontier Regulation Act, 1873 (BEFR) and forwarded to the Court.
The ILP checking is regularly carried out by various Police Stations and Check-gates under DEF Kohima to check entry of illegal immigrants in Kohima District.
