Training on Systemic Voters Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) for women was held in the DC’s conference hall, Kiphire, on March 9 with principal ZPGC, Dr. Anungla as the special guest.
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Anungla stressed on the importance of women participation in election process by elevating women voters at the grassroots level irrespective of any political, culture or social affiliation. She said the trend of women participation has increased but there was challenge to deal with larger issue of productive impact in society.
The special guest also appealed the gathering to update on the reforms on positive changes brought about by the Election Commission of India to impart greater participation of women voters.
The programme was chaired by T Lankonsen Tsanglao, SDO(C) HQ, and the vote of thanks was delivered by Benjamin Longkap, EAC HQ and AERO. Presidents of AST, YWO and KDSTH also spoke at the programme.
