LRD conducts awareness camp on H1N1

In a noble effort toward preparedness to confront H1N1, the department of Land Resources, Dimapur, is reaching out to the villages in the district creating awareness of the virus and its prevention besides distributing homeopathy vaccines to the villagers. 
An awareness camp on H1N1 prevention cum vaccine distribution was conducted by the department under the Health and Sanitation Sector of Special Programme for Environmental and Economic Development (SPEED) with assistance from qualified doctors at New Chumukedima and Lhothavi village on March 13 and Pishikhu village and Kiyezu ‘A’ village on March 14 covering about 1500 people including children.  
Before distribution of the vaccines, a proper interaction between the doctors and villagers were conducted. Dr. Yanren Jungio (Naturopathy/Electro Homeopathy) and Dr. KR Yimchunger (Homeopathy), who are both based in Dimapur, apprised the villagers on the nature of the H1N1 virus, the symptoms of swine flu, how it affects human body system on infection and precautionary measures needed to prevent infection to oneself and spreading to others. 
Doctors also instructed villagers about the oral dose requirement of three days course for adults and children. The vaccine pills which are injected with ‘arsenic album 30’ are recommended by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (Ayush Department), Government of India. Doctors also clearly mentioned that homeopathy oral vaccination H1N1 does not have side effects.  
Dr. Yanren Jungio and Dr. KR Yimchunger have already given vaccine to more than 3500 people in Dimapur.
District Project Officer of Land Resources, Dimapur, who initiated to conduct the awareness and vaccination camp, the first effort initiated by a department in the state, mentioned that it was the official duty of the department and yet an opportunity for the department to serve the people at difficult times.
