No more groupism: Kenye
NPF secretary general K.G. Kenye has expressed concern over doubts that may have prevailed in the minds of Naga people, due to the split among NPF legislators for the past 90 days. Kenye said this while talking to Nagaland Post over phone Sunday adding that there was no more ‘ism’or counting of legislators with erstwhile divided camps.
He said, “all the legislators have come back home and there are no groups now as we have 38 NPF legislators under the leadership of T.R. Zeliang”. Kenye said that there was no more need to create further ripples in the party by counting heads as reconciliation remained the party’s main concern and also of Election Commission of India.
He also informed that prior and during the split, the NPF president had petitioned the speaker for disqualification of some NPF legislators; while some others had been issued suspension notice from the party. However, he said all have now come one umbrella the necessary formalities under the provision of the party’s constitution for withdrawing the disqualification petitions and suspensions will be taken up in a few days time.
Kenye further expressed the belief, that it was high time Nagas get respite from the political imbroglio and see development and progress through the unity of the NPF party.
