General Review Meeting for Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY) was held in Guwahati on June 10 organized by Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India for the SAGY programme and Gram Sabhas adopted by MPs from all over North East.
The meeting which held at the Administrative Staff College was attended by Union Minister for Rural Development, Chaudhary Birender Singh and others.
Singh assured support from ministry and urged upon Deputy Commissioners of SAGY districts to take the lead to realize the goal of SAGY.
Nagaland Lok Sabha MP, Neiphiu Rio while addressing the meeting, strongly advised the ministry to help in implementing the programme with clear cut guidelines. He also highlighted issues faced by Nagaland in terms of acquiring funds from corporate houses for the programme. North Eastern states have been asked to begin the execution of SAGY projects by July.
Officials from Nagaland who attend the meeting include- secretary, RD, Kelie Zeliang, state nodal officer (SAGY) Kashiho Sangtam; charge officer for Seluophe village SAGY, Pfukrulhou Koza; charge officer for Ikishe SAGY village, Thungbemo Patton; RD deputy director, Thong and two Prime Minister’s RD Ransom Lungleng and Kabi John.
