DEF Kohima personnel manning Kezhekie check-gate located at BSF Camp, Chedema Kohima, intercepted one Manipur bound white colour Mahindra Bolero pick-up with fictitious registration number and forged smart card, Saturday morning.
According to SDPO and PRO Kohima police, initially the vehicle was detained on suspicion and when the matter was verified from R.T.O. Kohima, the registration number NL-01L/8754 was already found allotted to an Ashok Leyland truck. The smart card of the seized vehicle was also ascertained to be faked with forged signature of the registering authority.
In this connection, the driver S. Smaks (24) son of S. Dharmashing of Lungshang village Manipur was taken into Police custody and a Criminal has been registered against him for conducting further investigation.
