
Monthly Inter Media Publicity Coordination Committee (IMPCC) meeting of Central and state media units was held Wednesday, at the Doordarshan Kendra Kohima.
Chairing the meeting, director engineering All India Radio Kohima, who is also the chair of the IMPCC, Nagaland reviewed the programme highlights undertaken during the month of July, based on the theme “stabilize population; minimize misery” on account of the World Population Day which was held on July11.
The meeting also deliberated on extensive usage of social media aso as to provide wider updates on news and events. In this regard, DDE, DDK Kohima, P U Mohapatra suggested that AIR and DDK and all the media organizations should have their own website created at the earliest.
Under the directives of the Prasar Bharati, a high level co-ordination committee was also set up today, headed by director engineering, AIR Kohima. The role of the committee is to enhance operational efficiency and to facilitate quick decision making in AIR and DDK divisions.
On account of the weeklong observance of breast feeding week from August 1 to 7, IMPCC decided to give coverage throughout the month and make programmes on breast feeding, under the theme, “breast feeding is not a choice, it is a responsibility.” The meeting was attended by officials of AIR, DDK, DFP, DAVP, and PIB Kohima. The next meeting of the IMPCC will be held on September 8, 1p.m. onwards at All India Radio, Kohima.
