
Stage is all set for inauguration of the Inter State Truck Terminus (ISTT) complex, Friday by minister transport, IT & communication, P. Paiwang Konyak.
DIPR informed that Nagaland Chief Minister T.R. Zeliang who was supposed to be the chief guest will not be able to attain the program as scheduled, due to sudden emergency meeting at Delhi.
ISTT has been constructed in a sprawling plinth area covering 13 acres, with an estimated cost of 42 crores. Ministry of urban development government of India founded Rs. 14.15 crores while the remaining amount of Rs. 28 corers was founded by the state government.
The utilities and functions at the terminus include three storied building which has 44 bedded dormitories for drivers and handymen. Inside the complex is the dock building meant for transshipment of goods with a capacity of 2, 40,570 c. ft and a bay capacity of 16 trucks at a time.
It also has ware house I and II for storage of goods, workshop for minor repair and maintenance, weight bridge for checking and monitoring over-loaded vehicles to ensure safety measures.
Besides, the complex has pollution testing center, security house, security kiosk, parking yard, servicing ramp, external resting shed, guest house, officers quarter and staff quarters. The ISTT Dimapur has capacity parking lots for 400 vehicles.
The complex was constructed within 3 years (appx) by the firm T. Tachu and company with Rokolhou as the contractor
