
Tsieramia Council of L. Khel, Kohima village conducted a community social work at the new secretariat road, which is under construction, Monday. It may be noted that the road leading to secretariat was cut off on August 7 to release the accumulated water.
Around 500 members turned out for the social work. It is one of the important roads connecting many directorates, assembly secretariat and state secretariat.
Speaking to this correspondent, Ketouvizo Tseikha president Tsieramia youth organization L. Khel Kohima village said some of its members would be helping the concern department in the coming days.
He said the organization or council would extend full cooperation to construct good bridge and at the same time urged the concern individuals to avoid land owner issue while the department was undertaking the construction.
Meanwhile, with the new secretariat road closed, private bus and taxi operators have increased the fares at whooping rate from the high school junction to reach new secretariat complex via Billy Graham road or Meriema side.
Normal taxi rate which charge Rs. 70 to 80 has been increased to Rs. 150-Rs.200 while the city bus which normally charges Rs. 5 to reach secretariat from High School junction increased by Rs. 20 to Rs. 30 per persons.
Office goers were hit hard and as well as visitors faced lots of hardship.
Official said construction of the new bridge would take some months.
