A residential building and a pharmacy were completely razed down to ashes in an inferno that broke out wee hours at PPC colony Longleng, Wednesday.
No casualty was reported, however, properties worth around Rs. 2lakh was destroyed in the inferno.
The fire broke suspected to be started from one of the kitchen at PPC colony, when the family members were sleeping. It took almost three hours for fire personnel, public and residents to completely douse off the fire. Two water tankers and fire extinguisher were deployed.
According to police, fire broke out due to short circuit from the kitchen wiring.
Meanwhile Students’ Conference (PSC), Churches of Longleng Town visited and provided immediate relief to the affected family members. The Phom Students’ Conference (PSC) has urged the district Administration, NGO’s and well wishers to extend whatever assistance to family members of today’s fire victim.
