Coffee plantation demonstration held

Field demonstration on coffee plantation was organized by department of Land Resources Nagaland in collaboration with coffee board of India at L. Khel,  Kohima on Wednesday. 
Senior liaison officer coffee board government of India, Partha Pratim Choudhury and district project officer land resources Dr. Menuosietuo Tseikha demonstrated and explained on how to grow coffee plants to the participants. 
Highlighting the provision received from the coffee board of India, Choudhury said coffee farmers would get 75% subsidy from the board to buy some approved machineries. 
He also informed that there would be provision of stipend for the farmers’ children in the form of labour welfare fund. 
Dr.  Tseikha explained in detail to the coffee farmers about the characteristics of coffee. 
He said growing coffee was a good source to boost economy in our society as the climatic condition was favorable.
Dr. Tseikha also informed that for this current year three lakhs seedling would be distributed to Kohima district. Altogether 89 beneficiaries from Kohima district attended the field demonstration programme.
