Late Bp. Abraham remembered; text books released

First bishop of Kohima diocese 19th death anniversary was observed by priests, religious and faithful of parish cathedral of Mary Help of Christians joined by Most Rev. Dr. James Thoppil on November 18 at Kohima. 
In his homily during the Holy Eucharist, bishop recalled the yeoman work done by the late bishop in building up the diocese from its very inception. 
“He was a man of faith, conviction and hard work” and “Bishop Abraham spared no effort in realizing the dream he had for the diocese”, said Bishop Thoppil. The magnificent cathedral stands as witness to this fact, he added.  After the Holy Mass, special prayers were offered for the repose of the soul of Bishop Abraham and his tomb, placed inside the cathedral sanctuary was also blessed. On this occasion bishop James released “learning with culture” a new text book series, indigenously prepared text book for LKG and UKG students. 
The books were prepared by the Education Commission of the Diocese of Kohima, under the guidance of Rev. Fr. George Rino, the Secretary, Education Commission, diocese of Kohima. 
The first copy was handed over to Kekhrievilie Nigel. From the academic year 2016, all the Catholic schools would be using this book for LKG and UKG classes.
