Pre-Christmas celebration in Phek town would be held from December 4 to 5 at Phek town local ground under the theme, “good news of great joy” (Luke 2:10), hosted by Kuzholuzo Nienu and family.
The guest speakers for the programme would be pastor CBCMH Kohima Rev. Dr. Vevo Phesao and chairman Baptist Churches Pastor Fellowship Phek town, Rev. O. Alem Jamir. The events competition would be inaugurated by deputy commissioner Phek, Murohu Chotso, while cake race would be flagged off by SP Phek Rukewelo T. Mero
Balloon brawls and lighting of fireworks will be launched by commandant 5th NAP Phek Mangko Yanchu Chang and commandant 46th Assam Rifles respectively.
The celebration will be marked by competition events like; carol singing, sack race, three legs race, greased bamboo pole climbing, balloon hug, back ward race, skit, pork fat eating competition etc.
The introductory service would be at 4:30 p.m on December 4 with pronouncement of blessing by pastor Nepali Baptist Church Phek Town, Rev. Kewezolo Mero.
Bonfire would be lit by MLA Kuzholuzo and also deliver greetings.
Welcome address will be delivered by organizing committee convenor Salie Khesoh, while message would be shared by Rev. Dr. Vevo Phesao. On Carnival Day scheduled for December 5, there will be balloon blowing competition for senior citizens and balloon fight for 6-12 years of children.
