State BJP concerned on AR’s notice to press

State BJP unit has expressed concern on the reactions created by various organizations on the aftermath of Assam Rifles’ “notice” to local media. 
In a press release, BJP media cell said it honoured the commendable contributions made Assam Rifles under civic action programme and the local dailies towards the promotion of society and the importance of press freedom as envisaged in the constitution of India. However, it reminded AR to maintain proper limitation and status quo in consistence with constitutional provisions. It further, said para military, the press media and the central or state government each has its role to play within the defined written constitution and it was aware that the constitution of India is the supreme law of the land. Therefore, BJP said the contributions made by the press media by open presentation of information needed appreciation by all, including the AR as “our” society needed open discussion so that transparency promoted.
