Three-day training of District Technical Resource Team under MGNREGA commenced on December 3 at the RD conference hall and would conclude, Thursday.
Ministry of Rural Development has published SAMARTHYA technical training manual (MGNREGA) and as a follow up of this manual, training on technical aspects are being imparted to the technical personnel so as to create durable and productive assets under MGNREGA.
Addressing the inaugural session, joint director RD, Alemla Chishi said SAMARTHYA technical manual would help in incorporating all technical works permissible under MGNREGA and would further help with the technical specification in carrying out related works that could be taken up under MGNREGA.
Chishi mentioned that there were many new branches coming up under MGNREGA where the major focus area was to improve the quality and social utility of the assets created. She said this would be possible only with adequate capacity building of the technical personnel who ought to know the do’s and don’ts pertaining to the execution of works.
Chishi urged upon the trainees to take the training seriously and hope that they would learn as much as they could during the three-day training.
SAMARTHYA-the technical training manual- is the outcome of collective experiences gained over almost a decade of the implementation of this flagship program.
Day one of the training touched topics on watershed development and water budgeting, watershed development in arable and non-arable areas, watershed intervention in drainage lines followed by film on watershed.
