‘People Forum for Peace’ workshop

People Forum for Peace (PFP), an initiative of Peace Channel was held on April 30 at Hotel Acacia, as an inclusive approach for peace building, a collective platform for members from various communities, religions and professions who were committed to work for peace, justice and sustainable development for the welfare and wellbeing of the people. 
Peace Channel stated that people’s forum for peace comprised of all the tribes of local and non local from different background, ideology, professions, religions and societies, to make collective efforts to ensure peace, justice and development through good governance with local responsibilities with the motto, “Unity for Peace Movement.” 
It also stated that the objectives of PFP were to bring together people to work individually and collectively to promote peace and harmony in the immediate neighborhood and strive towards universal peace, justice, equality and brotherhood.
 To explore strategies of building peace and bringing development by working together on social economic, building in multi-cultural, tribal and religious contexts; to bring out and developed the potentials within individual to form responsible, transparent, honest and diligent leaders; to promote advocacy and promotion of Human Rights.
It also aims to instil and promote unity and harmony through ecumenical and inter-religious dialogue; to provide an inclusive platform for face to face dialogue among people’s organization from all walks of life. 
Hence, to facilitate dialogue between parties in conflicting situation and issues and to voice out on issues of common concern hitherto unaddressed and prevention of social evils and to jointly address issues of injustice, violence, corruption and illegal activities prevailing in society.
