Against the backdrop of reported arrest of a salesman of a government registered pharmacy located at the Naga Hospital Authority Kohima (NHAK) for allegedly selling expired medicine to a patient, a joint meeting between the Kohima district administration, NHAK officials and Angami Youth Organisation was held at the office chamber of ADC Kohima on September 15, 2016.
According to a DIPR report, the district administration, based on the incident reported and deliberation, has directed the NHAK to detail and assign a qualified staff to check and segregate the expired medicine. The administration also informed the NHAK that it was mandatory to mention the batch number and expiry date of the medicine in the receipt memo while handing over the items to the buyers.
The district administration also appreciated the concern shown by the AYO towards the welfare of the public, it stated.
