Firing fresh salvo against BJP for religious intolerance, NPCC on Sunday accused the saffron party of being “in a denial mode that it is against freedom of religion”. In a press note NPCC president, K. Therie alleged that whatever happened against Christians, had happened in BJP ruled states and by BJP frontal organizations, particularly after coming to power in 2014. NPCC said anti-Christian activities flared up from Gujarat BJP government.
“They started burning Holy Bibles, raping nuns, burning Church buildings, persecuting pastors by way of parading them on donkeys with half shaved heads and Christian schools closed”, Therie alleged. He went on to point out that Christian sanctified days were also made as working days, after the BJP government came to power.
Citing various reasons, Therie said BJP government declared Christmas Day as Good Governance Day and Good Friday as Judges’ Conference day. He further took a dig at the proposed plan to change the month of financial year ending from March to December, saying it wanted “to disturb the sacred festivities of Christians..”
