Mokokchung District Planning & Development Board (DPDB)–cum-officers Club Mokokchung (OCM) meeting was held at Jentisang Resort, Ungma village on December 7 during which it was revealed that Tzurangkong Range, Mokokchung will be hosting the forthcoming NSF Conference in April 2017.
According to DIPR report, chairman of the meeting additional deputy commissioner (ADC) Mokokchung, Bendanglila announced the news to the house and in this connection, requested executive engineers R & B, PHE and Power Departments to extend all possible help towards the Moayimti village for the success of the conference. ADC conveyed Christmas greetings to all the members from Chairman DPDB Mokokchung and parliamentary secretary, Industries & Commerce, Amenba Yaden and vice chairman and deputy commissioner, Mokokchung, Sushil Kumar Patel who could not attend the meeting. In her address, Bendanglila thanked all the officers for their support and cooperation during the two-day visit of Nagaland Governor to Mokokchung in November, 2016.
Er. Temsuwati, DIO, NIC Mokokchung presented report on activities of the OCM during 2016 and said that OCM was ever committed to do welfare activities for the benefit of the people in the district. He also said OCM has been extending humanitarian assistance at the time of disasters in the district. After the meeting the officers participated in Team Building Games which was followed by exchange of Christmas Gift and presentation of prizes to the winners in the Team Building Games.
KIPHIRE: Monthly meeting of Kiphire District Planning & Development Board (DPDB) was held on December 6 at DCs conference hall Kiphire under the chairmanship of deputy commissioner and vice chairman DPDB Kiphire, Sedevikho Khro.
According to DIPR report, chairman welcomed newly posted member, station superintendent NST, I. Meshu Khian and reviewed the last meeting minutes. The board discussed Society Registration of Gorkha Union Kiphire and decided to recommend it to the government for Society registration. Deliberations were held on the proposal for purchase of furniture, kitchen equipments and room amenities at GA Rest House Kiphire, which was also endorsed by Kipili Sangtam, minister Power and Chairman DPDB Kiphire for allocating certain amount of fund under LADP 2016-17. Board decided to write back to minister for further action from his part. Veterinary & Animal Husbandry department presented its departmental activities and the next departmental presentation would be done by Agriculture.
ZUNHEBOTO: Zunheboto District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) meeting was held at DC conference hall on December 8 under the chairmanship of DC and vice- chairman, T. Roy. District planning officer, N. Zhasa reviewed the last meeting minutes and the board discussed renovation of DC’s conference hall and maintenance of town roads in consultation with town GBs. The meeting decided to forward the matter to the chairman DPDB for funds under common pool. Executive Engineer, I&FC, Huska Yeptho spoke on the need of encouraging cultivation of rabi crops at Tizu valley to boost economic activities. The meeting decided to request Agri and allied departments to take the initiative. Absence of heads of offices at the DPDB meeting was also discussed and the DC asked the members not to send their representatives in future to attend the meetings.
