
The 1st felicitation programme of the “Martemsu & Imsutola Educational Trust Award Mongsenyimti (MAITAM)”, for academic excellence, was held, Saturday, at the community hall, Mongsenyimti village.
While delivering her speech, rtd. director, Horticulture Watienla Jamir, lauded the noble initiative of the Mongsenyimti Students’ Union by promoting and instilling the competitive spirit of the students of lower classes (below Class – X) through the Awards. She said, “this will directly minimize school dropouts in the village”. The recipients of the Award were Temjenjungla of class I, Moamenla of class II, Moayangla of class IV, Marnungtet of class V, Ayimsenla of class VI, Rongsensanen of class VII and Imlimenla of class IX.
While congratulating the awardees, she also acknowledged the sincere efforts of the teachers and called on them to strive further in producing quality students.
Initiating the Awards, former NSF president and member secretary MAITAM Tongpang Ozukum highlighted that the MAITAM awards were exclusively given to the citizen students of Mongsenyimti village from Class – I to Class – IX.
The awards were given away by Watienla Jamir, who is also the daughter of late Martemsu and late Imsutola.
A short speech was delivered by N Chizung Ozukum (Aola) on behalf of the Village Council. The programme was chaired by Imotong Pongen and invocation said by MBC pastor Imli Ozukum and benediction by MCBC associate pastor (W) Sentienla.
