‘FLC’ at PSK project areas

One day “Financial Literacy Camp” was held at Tuophema village and Botsa Village, the pilot Project areas of Poorna Shakti Kendra on March 9. The camp was organised by the Mission Poorna Shakti Kendra in collaboration with NSSWB, NMDFC and SRCW and supported by FIF NABARD.
At the programme, manager UCO Bank Kohima, Saran Kumar Chetri, highlighted on the importance of banking and also cited incidences of the villagers and the common people facing difficulties depositing or transferring money to their children who were studying outside the State.  He highlighted on how all this could be solved and easily dealt with if one have a bank account and an ATM card. Chetri also urged the participants to have bank account and ensure that they are operational.
Project manager, NSSWB, Asalie A. Kruse, spoke on the significance of digital banking and stressed on the need for everyone to get familiarised with the present scenario, where everything was becoming digitalised.  He also encouraged the villagers and the farmers to have a bank account, which in fact is a must for everyone, and to apply for an ATM card. An interactive session was also held where Ajabu Tungoe, district co-ordinator, PSK, shared on the existing schemes of the government.
Earlier, the programme was chaired by Asalie A. Kruse, project manager, NSSWB. He also gave a brief introduction of the Literacy camp and why the programme was held. Keduokhonuo Cerina Belho of 181 shared on the Awareness of Women Hepline 181, one stop Center and Childine-1098 and vote of thanks was delivered by Vekhwüsalü Dawhuo, supervisor, Women Helpline.
