
A male Blyth Tragopan was donated to Blyths Tragopan Conservation and Breeding Centre (BTCBC), Kohima by Inato Khujumi, Niu Colony Zunheboto.
In a press note, BTCBC officer in charge, Keneikrul, informed that the bird has been kept in quarantine condition and would be allowed to interact with the existing stock after a specified time.
The release informed that the annual breeding season of the Blyth Tragopan has begun and that the calls of the male Tragopan are prominently heard during dawn and dusk. The centre said it hoped and looks forward to a successful breeding season.
Meanwhile, BTCBC has expressed appreciation and gratitude to the donor as well as to the DFO Zunheboto, Tokaho Kinimi, who had transported and released the pheasant to the centre.
