Advisor, Urban Development, S. I. Jamir while lauding the activities of Ramakrishna Mission, said the mission had visions for the people of Nagaland, particularly people of Dimapur.
Speaking at the golden jubilee celebration of Sri Ramakrishna Society, Duncan Dimapur on Saturday at the society premises as chief guest, S.I. Jamir said 50 years back when Nagaland was in turmoil and people were scattered, tired of bloodshed and revolution, Ramakrishna Mission came with a vision and love for the people of Nagaland.
Briefing the gathering on the visions of Ramakrishna, Jamir said the latter took the decision to serve the people and added that his mission should be appreciated by everyone.
Besides religion, the advisor said Ramakrishna also came to enlighten the young souls who were in darkness and to help the helpless people to get the light of resurrection which he said was the “greatest service to the society”.
Jamir also assured support and cooperation to the institution in their future endeavours.
Earlier, the programme started by lighting the anniversary lamp followed by garlanding. Welcome speech was delivered by SRKS, president, Sisir Bhowmik, while opening song was presented by the students of Vivekananda Blooming Bud School.
Short speeches were deleivered by Ramakrishna Mission, Imphal, secretary, Nareshanandaji Maharaj; Ramakrishna Mission, Guwahati, Swami Santighananandaji Maharj and ex-president, Ramakrishna Society, S.R. Chakraborty. A speech was also delivered by assistant secretary, Ramakrishna Math & Mission, Belur Math, West Bengal, Sremat Swami Balabhadranandaji Maharaj and vote of thanks was proposed by Ramakrishna Society secretary, Ratikanta Jana. The formal session was followed by cultural programme.
