Annual training camp for 423 NCC cadets boys (junior & senior division) hailing from Mon, Longleng, Mokokchung, Tuensang and Zunheboto districts commenced on June 16 at CRPF Barracks DEF Camp Mokokchung.
The camp aims to train the cadets in outdoor practical training like drill (with and without arms) and would culminate in selection of candidates for Republic Day parade Delhi.
The introduction to obstacle course and map reading would culminate in selection for Thal Sena Camp.
Introduction to rifle and shooting practice would culminate in selection of best shooters for participation in various shooting competitions.
The following events would to be covered during the camp, Yoga as part of morning PT, digitization, electronic payments, Adhaar card and related security aspects by representatives from NIC Mokokchung, blood donation camp under Blood Bank Mokokchung, disaster management under Home Guards Mokokchung, traffic Rules under Traffic Police Mokokchung, elections and responsibility under AEO, nuances of fire fighting under Fire Brigade Mokokchung and tree plantation at District Hospital Mokokchung.
The cadets are from FAC Mokokchung, Sao Chang College TSG, Govt College Zunheboto and Yingli College Longleng.
The junior cadets are mostly from government high schools and government higher secondary schools from the above districts.
