Three-day Nagaland Fashion Week S-1 continues

The three day Nagaland Fashion Week season-1 held at hotel Theja Fort, Burma Camp, Dimapur saw various renowned and upcoming designers showcasing some of their works on the first two days.
Speaking as the chief guest on the inaugural event, Deputy Chairman, State Planning Board, Kuzholuzo Nienu (Azo), MLA said there was no denying the fact that Nagaland is a Fashion Paradise and one of the most fashionable zones in the country. Fashion and Naga People are synonymous, he added
People have always envied the style and confidence that our young fashionistas exudes, we are usually the first ones to try out upcoming trends and are not afraid to experiment, Azo said.
He also urged the Naga designers to bridge the gap between modernity and traditionalism. At this moment in time there is a dire need for us to promote and build up the brand “Made in Nagaland- designed in Nagaland”.
Nagaland has so far only produced a handful of few great personalities, who through their sheer gut and determination have made it through all the way.
But, I am sure that some of our most successful future designer who will put Nagaland on the spotlight is here with us in this room tonight, one word of encouragement is that when the going gets rough do not give up but keep yourself positive and think out of the box with your ideas because better days are ahead, he concluded.
On day two of show, Lady of the Event, Tenyimia Union Dimapur president Aba Khing said she was impressed that the organizers had given platform to social organization inspite of numerous talented ladies and government officials being present in Dimapur.
She said those in a position should help others and regard it as God answering those people’s prayer.
She encouraged the organizers to stand in God, be confident and carry their good works ahead.
On day 1 of the show designers including Dosoulo Vemai, Sanjeeve Tamang, Yosano & Mephruwe-u, Inaka & Anitoli and Vilhousa showcased their creations.
Designers Hivi & Veise, Amini & Anikali, Rosenle, Kathimen and Mhayani showcased their designs on the second day.
The panel of jury will include Hope Centre for Excellence (Music and Arts Centre), Dimapur managing director-Zubeno Mozhui,  senior fashion designer and Windfall proprietor-Bambi Kevichüsa, pattern designer-Benthungo Kithan, Pattern Designer while the event was hosted by Peteneinuo Venuh.
The grand finale of the event will be held on June 24 where the finalist designers would be announced and given a chance to compete for the top place.
The event is supported by Government of Nagaland- Directorate of Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship; Directorate of Women Resource Development; Nagaland Bamboo Development Agency.
