A stretch of road between Longlem village and Oting village under Mon district, which was blocked following massive landslide on August 7, was cleared by two excavators on August 10.
Around 200 ft stretch of road was blocked by landslide and had completely cut-off Oting village from the rest of the district.
When contacted, BJP Mon president, Nyawang Konyak, credited parliamentary secretary, Paiwang for taking the initiative to clear the road. He appreciated Paiwang for showing his concern and for his “willingness to pay for all the expenses made for clearing the road”. Nyawang also informed that minor landslides between Lapa and Longlem village were also cleared.
Meanwhile, according to sources, Tahwang Angh, the Angh of Oting village, also provided one of the excavators to clear the blockade.
