Aggrieved Unemployed Regular Veterinary Field Assistant Trainees Nagaland (URVFATN) has threatened to launch an agitation from August 23, if the department of animal husbandry and veterinary failed to meet their demand (revocation of July 11, 2017 meeting minutes), before August 21.
The announcement was made by URVFATN representative Temjennungsang at the press conference held at NSF conference hall on Friday. The department on July 11 decided that the vacancies arising from the year 2018 onwards shall be filled in the ratio of 80: 20, 80% to be filled through seniority by the regular candidates and 20% through open competition. URVFATN demand was that since appointment of VFA has been made serially from amongst the regular unemployed VFA trainees as per merit list the same yardstick should be applied.
URVFATN also demanded that the department cancel the regularisation of the ten VFA private trainees or issue an order that the seniority be counted from the date of regularization (i.e below 26 VFA batch). According to URVFATN, the regular VFA trainees of 22nd, 23rd, 24th and 25th batches after waiting for six to seven years were denied appointment and instead, the department in contravention of the laid down norms had regularized ten private candidates on May 31, 2017. Another representative, Keyirangkiamle Cerai pointed out that there were 186 genuine/regular trainees from 22nd -25th batches, and therefore said that the regularization should not supersede the “genuine trainees”.
