DCCI cautions shopkeepers on sale of tobacco

Dimapur Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI) has warned shopkeepers and paan shops to refrain from selling tobacco products within 100 meters of any school and college as sale of tobacco products to minor was an offence. 
In a press note, DCCI president Akashe Zhimomi and general secretary, Sanjay Sethi, have also applauded the efforts carried out by Naga Women Hoho Dimapur (NWHD) for conducting surprise checking on tobacco products in shops. It reiterated that stern action would be initiated against defaulters. 
DCCI while extending support to the initiatives taken by social organisations to prevent young school and college going students to refrain from consuming tobacco products also pointed out that interest of business community was of prime importance and that DCCI had always been cooperating with administration and social organisation. 
In this regard, DCCI has also requested the NWHD to follow prescribed parameters while conducting surprise checking.
