
Dimapur District Legal Services Authority (DDLSA) is set to begin “door to door” campaign organised by Nagaland State Legal Services Authority on the theme “Reach out, someone over there needs you” on September 23 while Wokha District Legal Services Agency (WDLSA) has kick started the campaign on September 15.
A press note by DDSLA stated that during the campaign, principal district and sessions Judge, Dimapur and chairman DDLSA, Hukato Swu, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Dimapur/ secretary DDLSA, Ajongba Imchen along with 20 panel lawyers and 10 Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs) would cover 10,000 households in the targeted village and colonies to create legal awareness.
The selected villages/colonies are: Phevima Village, Aoyimkum village; Ragailong, Namgailong; Showuba old, Diphuphar; Zutovi, Pimla; Rilan village, Senjum village; Shukhuvi village (chang), Tsithrongse Village (Sangtam); Garo Bosti, Padumpukhuri village; Chumukedima, Tenyiphe; Medziphema village, Kukidolong; and Sethikema, Sethekima Basa.
In this regard, DDLSA has requested all the village councils, student bodies, women organisations and churches of the selected villages, colonies for cooperation and participate in the campaign. It has further requested the concern village council chairman and GB of the colonies to inform all the public to be at station/home on day of campaign. WDLSA: Wokha District Legal Services Agency has commenced the “door to door” campaign on September 15 in the presence of secretary, panel lawyers and PLVs WDLSA at court premises.
A release by WDLSA stated that it has divided members into five groups consisting of panel lawyers and PLVs to cover five blocks under Wokha district – Wokha block, Bhandari block, Wozhuro block, Ralan block and Sanis block.
The campaign on Wozhuro block started on September 15 and concluded on September 18; campaign on Phiro, Wozhuro and Shaki villages completed on September 15 and Sankitong village was covered on September 17. Altogether 208 households were covered during the “door to door” campaign.
WDLSA stated that Wokha block started the mission and completed three villages namely Wokha, Longsachung and Niroyo and that Longsa village was yet to be covered.
