In the run up to Zunheboto Town 75 years (platinum jubilee) celebration, organising committee of Zunheboto Town Planning Jubilee (ZTPJ) on Saturday organised series of activities at Zunheboto Town.
In the first session, thousands of people, both young and old, took part in a walkathon held under the theme ““Walk the Talk”. Guest of honour, commandant, 5 Assam Rifles, Col. Keishan Debendra, flagged off the walkathon.
Guest of honour of the second session superintendent of police, Zunheboto, Khrodi Rhetso, expressed happiness on being part of the jubilee celebration. He spoke on the foundation on which every societies was based upon and added that every individual needs certain degree of discipline in life,
Rhetso asserted that good sanitation, cleanliness of neighbourhood in our town, efficient government employees, good entrepreneurs, dedicated teachers and sincere farmers was the need of the hour to move forward with better prospect and development.
He then wished for the town to move forward with better vision in years to come.
As part of the jubilee celebration, an inter-school literary competition was organized wherein in prepared speech, the participants spoke on the theme “My Vision of Zunheboto By 2030”. First position was secured by Olympic Higher Secondary School, Woodland Higher Secondary School bagged the second position while the third position was bagged by Step by Step School and Cornerstone Higher Secondary School.
Meanwhile, in talent show/variety show, Olympic Higher Secondary School bagged the first position while second and third positions went to Little Spring School and Kids World Montessori respectively.
