Planning & Co-ordination department has issued a clarification in response to news item “NPRAAF seeks clarification from Planning & Co-ordination department over land acquisition payments” published in sections of the local dailies on December 5, 2017.
While providing details of land acquired at four different locations and money released to the respective Deputy Commissioners for payment of compensation, a statement issued by commissioner & secretary, M. Patton also clarified that all lands were purchased or acquired by the government only with prior approval of the State Land Acquisition Authority (SLAA).
“Planning & Co-ordination department as the Nodal department for SLAA, the amount so sanctioned for payment of Land-Compensation to land owners are made through the respective Deputy Commissioners of the District and does not make payment directly,” Patton pointed out.
On whether the projects existed or not, Patton urged NPRAAF to seek clarification from the concerned project implementing departments as projects were not implemented by the Planning & Co-ordination department, excepting those projects under its purview.
