Minister of Roads and Bridges and advisor D block adoption committee Dr. Neikiesalie Kire urged everyone to perform their respective duty to make society better and brighter.
He said this while addressing the gathering during D –Block ward adoption committee culmination programme held at D block Panchayat hall Kohima on Monday.
Dr. Kire said adoption committee was formed some years back to uplift the weakest village or colony, whereby adoption committee consisting of various department could focus on that village or ward. He lauded the adoption committee for their cooperation and proactive effort for the welfare of the ward. He informed the colony residents that retaining wall for the colony government primary school and drainage was under process of construction.
Chairman D block panchayat, Kevisatuo Yhome highlighted the development and work done by the D block adoption committee like fixing colony street lights, repairing panchayat hall, replacing old electric posts, electrification at GPS, cleaning drainage and others.
The programme was led by Kakihe Sumi tourist officer, invocation prayer by Mhasiselie Theunuo pastor central CRC Konia, welcome address by Talingangla SDEO Kohima and felicitation led by Gilbert Patton secretary colony panchayat. Short speeches were given by the adoption committee members, felicitation and recognition to the GPS student position holders, senior citizens and women group of the colony was done by Er. Rukongutuo Suohu EE (elect) and convenor D Block ward adoption committee, while vote of thanks was proposed by administrator KMC Kethosituo Sekhose.
In the second session, colony pre-Christmas was celebrated with Chanda Sahi as the speaker. The programme was compeered by Riilhoulie Kire and Yampishumi Patton, invocation prayer said by Adino Chasie, bible reading by Christina Yhome, special songs were presented by Thejakhrielie umu, Sedeneinuo Yhome, Namdingwangbe Haralu and Bimla.
