Govt deptts, DCC Mkg celebrate advent Christmas

Government departments and Mokokchung District Congress Committee (DCC) celebrated advent Christmas on December 18 and 19. 
DIPR: Department of Information & Public Relations (DIPR) celebrated pre-Christmas on December 18 at IPR Citadel, Kohima. 
Secretary, Information & Public Relations, Lithrongla G. Chishi graced the occasion while Rev. Dr. Tseibu Rutsa delivered the Christmas message, reported DIPR.
Director IPR, Limawati Ao in his greetings highlighted the achievements of the department and said that by God’s grace 2017 has been an eventful year. He said that Christmas is a time to rejoice and share love with family and friends while also counting one’s blessings.
Lithrongla G. Chishi in her exhortation said that Christmas is about giving, sharing, love and joy. She added that we should have a spirit of love not only during Christmas but throughout the year. She called upon the gathering to let Christ be born in their hearts everyday and let 2018 be a year to commit oneself as a Christian and be a channel of peace, love and help the needy. Rev. Dr. Tseibu Rutsa while delivering the Christmas message said that Christmas is a season/time to forgive one another and show one’s care and love for our near and dear ones in Christ. He said Christmas is confined not only to merry making but repentance of one individual from our past iniquities. He said the best gift to our parents during Christmas season is to accept Jesus Christ as our personal saviour and live in His righteousness. He urged all the officers and staff to be sincere and dedicated in their official assignments and work with renewed vigour. 
Registrar, IPR Wati Atsongchanger called upon the gathering to commit oneself to God while celebrating Christmas. The programme was chaired by Atuzo Peseyie. Invocation and Bible reading by Throngrong and Nouneseno said the benediction.
Other highlights of the programme included an inter-section choral competition, which was followed by entertainment session, karaoke, bonfire and Christmas feast.
DHFW: Directorate of Health & Family Welfare (DHFW) Kohima celebrated advent Christmas on December 19 at its office premises with pastor Ebenezer church, Rev. Keviyiekielie Linyu as the speaker.
DHFW in a press release, informed that the speaker Rev. Keviyiekielie Linyu exhorted the gathering to have a Christ filled Christmas in their heart throughout the year.
The programme was chaired by joint director NSACS, Metevinuo Sakhrie; deputy director DHFW, Dr. Puse Leigise graced the programme with a scripture reading and prayer followed by Christmas carols. 
Principal director DHFW, Dr. N. Bendangyanger Jamir greeted the congregation with Christmas greetings which was followed by special numbers presented by various sections of the department. The programme concluded with a benediction pronounced by additional director DHFW, Dr. Vikeyie Losu.
DCC Mokokchung: Mokokchung District Congress Committee (DCC) also organized pre-Christmas celebration-cum-installation of DCC treasurer, at the new treasurer’s residence, here on Monday. 
While exhorting the party workers, Dr. T Limawati stated that Indian National Congress is the only political party in the country that strongly stood with secular principle, protecting the rights of the people, especially the minorities. 
He attacked the present DAN government alleging that Nagaland has became a failed state and that Congress was the only option to provide a staple government. 
He therefore, called upon the party workers to remain united with sincerity and dedication, by believing in the clean election initiated by the churches.
Earlier, the party flag was hoisted by Dr. T Limawati and a brief acceptance speech was delivered by the new DCC treasurer, Imlinukshi. 
The newly inducted members in the Congress party from the BJP party led by BJP State level vice-president & RTI activist S Lepzung Jamir and six units from the Tuli Assembly Constituency were also introduced at the programme.
Christmas message was shared by Rev. Longri and a special song was presented by 24 A/C Mahila. NPCC member Senkameren greeted the gathering.  Welcome address was delivered by DCC vice-president, Noktsung and the programme was chaired by DCC president, Watimongba. (Correspondent)
