Peace Channel organises capacity building programme

June 17, 2018 | by admin

Peace Channel conducted a capacity building programme for Peace Club members on June 14 at Christ King Higher Secondary School (CKHSS) and Don Bosco Higher Secondary School (DBHSS) Kohima.
A press release by Peace Channel stated that with an aim to help students gain proper knowledge of the use of different types of toys, the students of CKHSS were capacitated on “anti –war toys”.
The resource person, Susan Kulnu, said that there were toys for various ages that entertain and educate children and that playing with toys was an important tool to make a child understand the complex phenomena of the world around it.
Kulnu however lamented that some toys, that are available today, unwittingly encourage factionalism and feuds among children.
Later the students were invited to take an oath and say no to war toys.
At DBHSS, Kulnu talked about the “vision of peace-unity in diversity” with an aim to encourage positive thinking and spread peace. She stated that unity in diversity plays a big role in bringing about peace in life.
Altogether 57 students and three teacher animators respectively attended the programme.
