Immanuel College observed an Anti-ragging awareness Day on June 15, at the college auditorium. The programme was organized by the Anti-ragging committee with an objective to create awareness among the students about ragging.
In a press release, college media cell convenor Akutu Poireng stated that the college dean of students, Loli Athisii, gave an introduction to the ragging that is prevalent outside the state. He said ragging in any form was a punishable offence under the law passed by the Supreme Court and supported by The UGC. He further dwelt on the impacts of ragging on the victim, how it could leave a permanent scar on the victim’s mind or sometimes even ruin the victim’s career.
The programme was chaired by assistant professor department of history, Hriizia Lazeo and invocation prayer was pronounced by assistant professor department of education Temjen Longkumer.
