Medicine dealers notified

As directed by the Drugs Controller General of India, the Assistant Drugs Controller, C Thungchanbeni Lotha and Drugs Inspector, Martemjen Lkr, Dimapur, have directed all medicine dealers under Dimapur district to keep separate shelves/racks for generic medicines in retail outlets/pharmacy shops, visible to consumers.
In a notification dated June 12, the Drugs Controller General of India, Dr. S Eswara Reddy, stated that the Drugs Consultative Committee (DCC) and Drugs Technical Advisory Board (DTAB) had decided that every retail outlet should use separate shelf/rack reserved exclusively for stocking generic medicines in the licensed premises separated from other medicines, which should be visible to consumers.
