All Nagaland Private Schools’ Association (ANPSA), Dimapur unit held its general body meeting 2018 at the DBDIL conference hall, Don Bosco Hr. Sec. School on September 17.
A press release by ANPSA president, Andrew Ahoto stated that, the meeting focused on the celebration of the ANPSA (Dimapur unit) silver jubilee in the month of November 2018.
In his presidential address, Andrew Ahoto dwelt on the modalities to be carried out for the successful celebration of the silver jubilee function. He also announced that ANPSA as a frontal organization of the state would be donating an amount of Rs. 1.5 Lacs towards the relief for the Nagaland landslide victims along with another donation of an amount of Rs. 1.5 Lacs towards the relief for the Kerela flood affected victims. He also directed the ANPSA Dimapur school members to fix a date for conducting parents-management meetings for the sensitization of Measles-Rubella Vaccination program by the department of Health and Family Welfare.
The house also discussed the need for all schools in Nagaland to have a common pattern of academic session, i.e from April to March, which is expected to bring about uniformity in the academic structure of schools in Nagaland with other schools across India.
This was felt necessary because at present schools under the State Boards (NBSE & BESE) carry out two separate final examinations, one for Classes-LKG to IX in November-December and the other for Classes-X to XII in February-March which leads to undue inconveniences. Boarding schools also face the brunt as they need to cater to the requirements of regular new session students as well as those appearing for the board examinations.
Earlier, the meeting began with the invocation prayer by Fr. Philip Magh, principal, Holy Cross Hr. Sec. School followed by the minutes of the previous ANPSA general body meeting read out by Leo David, general secretary, ANPSA (Dimapur Unit) who also proposed the vote of thanks. Closing prayer was given by Dr. R. Francis, principal, St. Stephen’s Hr. Sec. School.
