
District Planning and Development Board (DPDB) Tuensang held its monthly meeting on September 21, at the DC’s Office Conference Hall under the chairmanship of Toshi Wungtung, advisor of IPR, SCERT and Village Guards.
After reviewing the last meeting minutes, the Board discussed and recommended the creation and upgrade of various offices and schools.
Toshi Wungtung, chairman of the Board, requested the administration to coordinate with ADC Noklak for the formation of a Red Cross Society in Noklak, adding that Red Cross, an international society, has no boundaries and limitations to serve the people. He also appealed to the officers to work sincerely in serving the people especially in ENPO areas where stability of law and power will come along with the development and economic growth. He also requested the Municipal and Urban Development department to monitor the waste management system in town areas.
C. M. Chang, minister for Forest, Environment & Climate Change also requested the concerned department to review the current situation regarding HIV, as Tuensang district is ranked second in Nagaland, adding that mass participation is needed for educating the people about HIV. Muthingnyuba Sangtam, MLA appealed to the officers to prepare a ‘Plan of Action’ or functions of the office and submit it to the representative of their respective constituencies for better coordination and cooperation in their functioning.
Toyang Chang, MLA also requested the officers posted at Tuensang to work sincerely and honestly for the upliftment of the people in the district. A slide-show presentation on departmental activities was presented by Sao Chang College, Tuensang.
