Rotary Club of Dimapur and Rotaract Club of Dimapur jointly constructed a hand washing station and installed filtered drinking water dedicated to Govt. Middle School, Sematila, Dimapur on September 29 under Rotary India Wash in school (WinS) programme.
Rotary club literacy chairman, Sanjay Jain, in his speech, highlighted the importance of washing hands and drinking filtered water. He said clean water, better sanitation, teacher training and hygiene education in school can improve the health and education of children by creating a cycle of opportunity.
Rotary president, Dr Nitin Agarwal also advised students that washing hands with soap was the single most intervention in preventing number of diseases like diarrhea, RTI etc.
Rotarct president Akash Jain chaired the programme and gave a brief report on the construction work .Tohuli pronounced the invocation. Vote of thanks was given by Rotaract vice president and school in-charge.
Sematilla GB Vihoshe also appreciated the work and service rendered by Rotary and Rotaract Clubs of Dimapur for the school.
