
Lions Club of Kohima (LCK) organized its annual “Lions international peace poster contest” at the Conference Hall of Red Cross, Kohima on October 13, with joint secretary of Urban Development, Elizabeth Ngully as the special guest.
A press release from LCK secretary, Kaikho stated that Ngully, in her speech, said that education was not only imparted within the four walls of the classroom but it included extra-curricular activities as well. She encouraged the students to develop their talents through various extra-curricular activities.
She said that everyone who took part in the contest were talented, adding that it was special to view what peace was in their minds through their creative art.
LCK president Aroba also expressed happiness over the participation of the large number of students. Altogether 29 students between the ages of 11 to 13 from nine schools from Kohima area took part in the competition.
Tejodeno Viphrezo Zao, Class VIII, of Littler Flower Higher Secondary School, Kohima won the 1st prize. 2nd prize went to Keneikunu Natso, Class V, of North Field Higher Secondary School, Kohima while the 3rd prize went to Riya Sharma, Class VIII, of Model Higher Secondary School, Kohima.
Past LCK president, Tali Jamir, also spoke on the occasion. The prizes and participant certificates were distributed by Elizabeth Ngully.
