Sub-Divisional Agriculture Office (SDAO), Naginimora, department of Agriculture, conducted a one day training program on Mission Organic Value Chain Development for North East Region (MOVCD-NER) on October 5 at Chingtang village under Mon district.
A press release from SDAO Naginimora stated that SDAO Naginimora, H. Lawrence explained the salient features and guidelines of the MOVCD. Deputy DAO Mon, Senup Pongener appreciated the active and enthusiastic participation from the village and also urged them to continue cooperating with the department for successful implementation of the mission.
Under the mission, a 50 hectare area at Chintang village will be brought under organic cultivation of ginger. Registration of farmers and signing of contract with the farmers was also done. The farmers assured the department that the organic guidelines for production will be strictly followed for successful implementation of the mission. In all, 50 farmers attended the training program.
