Training of Trainers on peace building

A Training of Trainer’s (ToT) on peace building was conducted by Peace Channel in collaboration with North East Institute of Social Sciences and Research (NEISSR) and People’s Forum for Peace (PFP) Dimapur on October 13 at NEISSR conference hall.

A press release by Peace Channel stated thatDr. Fr. C. P. Anto, director of Peace Channel, in his key note address, congratulated all the religious leaders for their tireless contribution towards a peaceful society. He also emphasized on multi cultural co-existence in a society as being an asset.
Dr. Deben Baschaspatimayum, assistant professor, NEISSR and peace skills trainer was the resource person for the program. He laid stress on the socio-political and legal context of dialogue facilitation and mediation works at the global, regional, national and local levels. He touched on a number of international and national issues which were solved through mediation and a dialogue process.
The training program was compered by Patrick Tungoe, coordinator, Peace Channel, invocation was said by Merebeni Lotha, associate pastor women, Lotha Baptist Church and a welcome address was delivered by Chumdemo Odyuo, program coordinator, Peace Channel. Taku Longkumer, chairman of People’s Forum Nagaland also gave a brief introduction about the Peace Forum Nagaland and its initiatives in Nagaland. 
The program concluded with a word of appreciation by Arhomo C. Ngullie, program coordinator, Peace Channel and the benediction was offered by Yanbemo Lotha, pastor, Lotha Baptist Church Dimapur. The program was attended by religious leaders of different religions.
